Woman Sues Federal Government For NOT Deporting her Husband

Mrs. Uzamere should've read the fine print.
In Uzamere v. Bush, et al., Cheryl D. Uzamere alleged that her "American" husband Ehigie Edobor a.k.a. "Goodwin" Uzamere was a ringleader in a green card scam marriage. After filing her complaint with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Office in 1980 Mrs. Uzamere pursued her allegations in the Federal Court system.

She claims that her husband, Mr. Uzamere tricked her into signing his immigration paperwork and ultimately abandoned her and their daughter. She claims that she had no idea his name was fictitious, that he was not a United States citizen and that he had obtained entrance into the United States illegally. She claims that Mr. Uzamere, a Nigerian Senator, and his immigration attorneys created this scheme to outsmart someone that had no knowledge of the law or his true origin.

I was beginning to feel sorry for the woman, but then the case took a unusual turn: The funny part of this case is that in addition to suing the husband and his attorneys she is also going after New York State (yes, the entire state) , New York State Grievance Committee for the 2nd and 11th Departments, City of New York (yes, the entire city), New York City Police Department, New York City Human Resources Administration / Department of Social Services, Google Corporation (yes, the entire Google) and YouTube Corporation (same here), Condoleeza Rice (what did she do?), Michael Chertoff, Julie Myers, The United States Of America (ok, wow), United States Department of State, United States Department of Homeland Security, United States Department of Citizenship and Immigration Services, United States Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Why? Because she thinks that they should have known that he was lying.  She believes that they should have discovered the fraud and uncovered the truth. See the remainder of the complaint here.

There is no surprise that Mrs. Uzamere's complaint was dismissed for not stating a claim as to the Federal government defendants and for having a frivolous cause. But it sure was entertaining!

Hot Sauce, Cold Showers and Eyebrow Waxing: Child Abuse or Not?

36-year-old Anchorage, Alaska resident, is charged with child abuse because of her appearance on "Dr.Phil".

Bee-Tee-Dubs: This video was removed from You Tube because it VIOLATED their violence content agreement.

The audience saw video of her disciplining a 7-year-old son by putting hot sauce in his mouth and forcing him into a cold shower. In the video, Beagley is punishing the boy for "pulling three cards," a reference to three reports from his school of bad behavior. The methods chosen by were unreasonable, said municipal prosecutor Cynthia Franklin.
"She has not done anything that would warrant a criminal charge for child abuse," said attorney William Ingaldson. "If this hadn't showed up on 'Dr. Phil,' there wouldn't be anybody saying anything about it. Some people think spanking your child is wrong, and she doesn't even do that," Ingaldson said.
Neither the child in the video nor five other children in the home have been removed by the Office of Children's Services, the Anchorage Daily News reported Friday.
"We've tried timeouts with (him)," Beagley says in a YouTube video from the "Dr. Phil" appearance.

"That is a big joke." In the video, Beagley goes on to explain that those previous methods of discipline — timeouts, spankings, forced exercise, soap in the mouth — didn't stop the boy from acting out and lying, so she turned to hot sauce. When she's at her wits' end, the boy gets a cold shower, Beagley says.
The U.S. Department of Health and Safety lists several factors in determining what is child abuse. A method of unreasonable discipline included in the code is the scalding, branding or burning of a child. Though the code does not mention hot sauce specifically, the section on burning applies to hot sauce, according to the prosecutor's office. The Beagley children haven't had physical injuries or medical care for injuries.

If the kid had no injuries and still was cleaned in the process, I can't really imagine what the big deal was to be honest. I have seen worse, feel free to leave your comments below. But I did come across this video from "Toddlers and Tiaras" in which a mother is forcing her 5 year old daughter to have an eyebrow wax. She even admits in the video that her daughter is so afraid because she had an experience in the past that caused her skin to be ripped fro her face. Child abuse? You be the judge.

Merry Kiss-Mas Momma and Daddy!

"Merry Kiss-Mas Momma and Daddy!", says Nunu as she awakes on Christmas morning. I woke her as I usually do by picking her up gently and rubbing her back. I wanted to wait until Daddy woke up so I tried to keep her in her room. I had also promised my mom the night before Christmas that she could come and see her open her presents. Even though when I called her she refused to come but that's another story.

Since she is only 20 months old, Nunu had no idea it was Christmas so she was very content with eating her cereal while watching cartoons in her room. This was great because it allowed me to have my coffee and wake up completely. But once she got started it was on an crackin'.

As she ripped through her parcels, she uncovered a Disney Princess tea set, golf set, toy firetruck and mega blocks, and boring clothes and hats.

While the Christmas tree glowed gleefully, my husband showered me with gifts and kisses. We drank warm hot cocoa and played with the new toys while Christmas movies played on TV all morning. It was a reminder of why I wanted to start a family. The memories are so thick and delicious.

Later that day we visited with Hubby's grandparents, my aunts house (a zoo filled with people and presents) and finally his other grandparents in Fullerton. Nunu collected so many gifts that there will be a surplus packed away for her birthday in March. She was so overwhelmed that she refused to open anymore packages by the time we arrived at the last relatives house. I love that our family spoils her but I want to make sure that she knows the true meaning of Christmas. So, the next day we picked out older "baby toys" to give to the younger babies at the daycare.

Yes, Snoopy HAD to be in the picture!

The weekend was quiet and just what I needed after the week of being "surprise" manager at the firm. It gave me some perspective of what I do it all for.

Letters to Gov. Quinn on behalf of the Carroll Family

I try to feature family based legal news on my blog and I figured this was very relavant to my non-audience. This is a dear work friend of mine and I want to spread the word as much as possible so here it is.

Note posted by Dannielle Carroll on Facebook:

Most of you know that my father was killed in 1996, when I was a sophomore in high school.  For those of you that don't, I have included a link below to a news article that covered the story at the time.  My family recently found out that one of the men convicted of his murder has petitioned the Governor of Illinois for clemency and release.  We, as citizens across the country who believe in the justice system, can not let this happen.

I am asking you to please take a moment to read my message below and then do two things.  First, write or email a letter to the Governor of Illinois, Patrick Quinn, as soon as you can.  The clemency hearing is scheduled for October 8, 2010.  Second, please send this message on to your family and friends.  If this man is released, he will be living among the rest of us -- and can choose to live anywhere in the countryMy father's death was not an accidental death. This attack was unprovoked and unwarranted. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  My family really appreciates it.

Back in 1998, Richard Fikejs was convicted of the 1996 murder of three men, including my father, Kevin Carroll.  At the time, my dad was 39, happily married almost 20 years to my mom, Lynn, and the father to six children, including two foster children (Dannielle, Heather, Frank, Jennifer, Bridget, and Jessica).

Richard Fikejs was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole.  He recently (unsuccessfully) attempted suicide.  Based upon this, his mother has petitioned the governor for clemency, stating that her son is emotionally unstable/unfit to be in prison.  She has been granted a hearing next month in order for the governor to determine clemency.  If it is granted, Richard Fikejs' will be immediately released and his record will be expunged.

An example text for your letter is below, but please feel free to add or write whatever you like. Keep in mind that his mother is asking for his release from prison with no record of him ever being there!!! He was convicted of murdering three men with no provocation. Thanks again for your help. My family really appreciates it.

......... SHE MADE IT SO EASY FOR YOU THAT SHE EVEN GAVE YOU A SAMPLE!....
Dear Governor Quinn,

This letter is regarding the upcoming clemency hearing on behalf of IDOC inmate Richard Fikejs. He was convicted in 1998 of the October 12, 1996 murder of three men, including Kevin Thomas Carroll.

(Please insert a statement here about how you knew my dad or my family. Some examples are:
  1. Mr. Carroll grew up on the same street as me. I remember meeting him while growing up, and was actually a classmate of his daughter, Heather Carroll. He was very devoted to his family and his murder was devastating to our entire neighborhood.
  2. Mr. Carroll was a member of my church, St. Denis.  He was actively involved in Boy Scouts, of which I/my son was a member.
  3. Mr. Carroll was a volunteer with the St. Rita band, helping to set up halftime shows during football games.  His dauther, Dannielle Carroll, was a fellow member of the band with me.
  4. Mr. Carroll was an active member of the community.  Growing up on the southside of Chicago, he attended Tonti School and Hubbard High School.  He coached Little League in Merrionette Park.  He raised his family here and was a member of St. Denis Parish.  He could frequently be seen enjoying our neighborhood, whether it was bringing his kids to Marquette Park to go fishing, or sitting at his kids softball games on Saturday mornings at Hayes Park.  He was a proud supporter of the Boy Scouts and volunteered with the Chicago Area Council, spending summer weekends completing repair projects at Owasippe Scout Reservation so that all Chicago area scouts would have the chance to enjoy the outdoors.
  5. etc.......Also include something about how you knew our family....classmate, friend, family, concerned citizen, etc.)
His death in 1996 was devastating.  Not only was a valued community member killed, but my own sense of security was tested.

In 1998, we believed that justice had been served when Richard Fikejs was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. When I found out that his mother was petitioning for clemency due to Mr. Fikejs' recent unsuccessful suicide attempt, I was shocked. There is absolutely no reason why Mr. Fikejs should be allowed to enjoy the benefits of free society after committing such a horrific crime. I hope you feel the same way and DENY this clemency request on October 8, 2010.

Sincerely,xxxxxxx

Thank you for your support. If you read my blog, you understand how important family is to me. So let's make things happen for this family. Thanks.

Woman Catches Husband Cheating On Facebook

cheatedwifeCLEVELAND, Ohio -- It's one thing to suspect your spouse of cheating. It's another to see proof on Facebook.

A Cleveland woman is dealing with it first-hand in what's becoming an alarming trend.

"I'm in a living nightmare, and I just feel like this isn't real, and I have to remind myself that it is real. It is happening." For this anonymous woman, a click around Facebook is a reminder of a nightmare she never saw coming. "It's disturbing to see my husband and my children essentially in a double life with another woman."

Mrs. Anonymous's husband, who was married in Italy just five years ago, secretly met another woman in Florida. After receiving a tip from her relatives she found the "other woman's" Facebook page and began to watch as her husband's faux business in Florida unraveled before her eyes.

She quickly found that they were getting married at Disney World. That she was registered at target. They had been together since '07. She was living at his home in Florida. Within weeks, Megan saw heart-breaking images of a lavish, storybook wedding for Wife No. 2. She was dressed as Sleeping Beauty, and Megan's husband was kissing his new bride as Prince Charming. Megan watches as the other wife posts photo of activities with Megan's children.

"Someone who went to the wedding posted all the pictures from the wedding. About 200 pictures from the wedding," Megan said.

The photos tore at Megan's heart, but those same photos will be used as she seeks a divorce. It is evidence such as this that family law expert Andrew Zashinsaid often is used in court. Gee, thanks Facebook!

Mel Gibson Definitely Doesn't Know "What Women Want"

5630073

Be careful of what you say over the phone! Don't people know that there is such an invention as a recorder?
Mel Gibson was heard in a eight minute recording released RadarOnline.com that he hit the mother of his 8-month-old daughter Oksana Grigorieva.

Purportedly a phone argument between Gibson and Oksana, voice sounding distinctively like him, was heard telling his then girlfriend that she "deserved" to be hit after she chastised him for punching her in the face and breaking two of her teeth.

"What kind of a man is that?" she was heard saying. "Hitting a woman when she's holding a child in her hands? Breaking her teeth twice in the face! What kind of man is that?"

"Oh, you're all angry now!" Gibson allegedly responds. "You know what, you ... (expletive) deserved it!"

Alan Nierob, a spokesman for Gibson, declined comment on the tape. [of course]

The former couple have been locked in a bitter custody dispute in Los Angeles. The 40-year-old singer has accused Gibson of domestic violence, prompting sheriff's officials to launch an investigation. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said investigators will evaluate the recordings.

He said there was no timeframe for the inquiry to be concluded.

Last week, a recording posted by RadarOnline.com included comments it said came from Gibson telling Grigorieva that she was dressing too provocatively and that it would be her fault if she were raped. He used the N-word at one point.

Wow Mel. Wow. I actually loved "What Women Want" but you clearly think that includes a trip to the hospital. And it seems the only "Lethal Weapon" around here is you. *que drum symbols"
